According to Reuters, SpaceX is building its first Starlink ground station in Da Nang, which is expected to begin operations in May or June. The company’s long-term plan includes deploying up to 15 ground stations across Vietnam to expand telecommunications infrastructure and improve the quality of satellite internet connectivity.

Ground stations play a crucial role in receiving signals from satellites and transmitting data to users, helping improve connection stability and reduce latency. Currently, Starlink operates in more than 100 countries and territories, but not all of them have their own dedicated ground stations.
SpaceX plans to invest around 3 million USD to deploy the ground station system in Vietnam. In addition, the company has also committed 1.5 billion USD to the Vietnamese market to expand infrastructure and develop telecommunications services, marking an important step in its expansion strategy in Southeast Asia.
