During the Lunar New Year holiday, the Embassy/Consulate General of Vietnam in the United States will observe the official holiday schedule. Therefore, applications related to consular procedures (such as Passports, Visa Exemption, Certificate of Single Status, Signature Authentication, and Document Legalization, etc.) may take longer than the usual processing time.
The holiday schedule for February 2026 is announced as follows:
- Embassy of Vietnam in Washington, D.C.: Updating
- Consulate General of Vietnam in San Francisco: Monday (Feb 16) – Presidents’ Day Tuesday and Wednesday (Feb 17 and Feb 18) – Lunar New Year Holiday
- Consulate General of Vietnam in Houston: Monday and Tuesday (Feb 16 and Feb 17) – Lunar New Year Holiday
- Consulate General of Vietnam in New York: Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday (Feb 16, Feb 17, and Feb 18) – Lunar New Year Holiday
Important Note:
- Applications submitted close to the holiday period (after February 12) may be processed after the Embassy/Consulate General of Vietnam resumes operations.
- The processing time for results and delivery may be longer than usual.
- Clients who plan to travel or fly to Vietnam during this period are advised to submit their applications early.
